The festival features the kagyu no kei (flaming bull stratagem) race, which derives from a stratagem adopted by Kiso (Minamoto) Yoshinaka to release bulls with torches tied to their horns into the Taira forces here during Genpei War. "Flaming bulls" led by young men run through streets one night. Games with gorgeous prizes and various other events also take place.
