A huge tree 280 years old, eight meters high and three meters in maximum diameter. It forks into four trunks at the height of 0.3 meters above the ground. Holly trees grow in warm climates and do not grow naturally in the mountains of Toyama. However traditionally, people planted them in their gardens because the prickles of its leaf are believed to prevent intrusion of evil spirits.
