Ruins of the Jomon period were discovered in 1949, the first such ruins found in Imizu-gun. Earthenware excavated here is the benchmark of the late middle period of the Jomon era in the chronology of Jomon ware found in the Hokuriku region. The earthenware was named Kushida Shin ware after the name of the ruins.
