In the year 927, the Imperial Court created a system to preserve certain shrines of proper origin in which people had strong faith. The selected shrines were called "Engishiki Naisha." This document, dated 1593, grants special rights to Ubara Shrine from Maeda Toshinaga. Ubara Shrine stands in the Yayoi-era ruins spread throughout the Fukuda district.
