The largest of the traditional Japanese Gassho-style houses in Gokayama, this was designated a nationally important cultural asset in 1958. It is 26.4 meters wide at the front, 12.7 meters deep, and 14.4 meters high. The main column is 30 centimeters square, and the idei (living room), including the bottom board, was built entirely with zelkova wood and covers 24 tatami mats.
