The shrine is well known as Minamoto Yoshinaka visited it to pray for victory. It has a history of about 1,300 years and is designated a nationally important cultural asset. The inner shrine building of plain wood has characteristics of the Azuchi Momoyama era, while styles of the early Edo era remains in the tsuridono (part of the building facing a pond).
