Gennoshoko, Cranesbill, Geranium thunbergii (Geraniaceae) This is a 30 to 50 centimeter high perennial that grows on mountains and in fields. It blooms in reddish purple and white flowers from July to October. It has been used since ancient times as a remedy for diarrhea, and its Japanese name derives from its efficacy.
