Takaoka Mikurumayama Festival with a parade of Mikurumayama floats is reminiscent of the faith of ancient people. All the seven floats were designated as important tangible cultural assets by the national government in 1960. The floats with gorgeous decorations in the style of the Momoyama period represent the quintessence of metal work (gold crafting), lacquering and other traditional craftsmanship of Takaoka.
