Ashitsuki, Nostoc verrucosum Vaucher (Nostocaceae) Dark greenish-brown in color, this sac-shaped solid forms gelatinous lumps and has many folds. Large specimens reach 10 centimeters. At first, they are small and verrucose, but they proliferate and grow through cell division until June or mid-July, then they leave the rocks.
