Zuiryuji Temple and the Maeda Family, Shimozeki

The temple was established by Maeda Toshitsune, third feudal lord of the Kaga clan, to pray for the soul of his elder brother Maeda Toshinaga. Its predecessor was a temple established by Toshinaga with a priest invited from Hoenji Temple of Toyama. Construction of the original buildings of Zuiryuji was led by Yamagami Yoshihiro, a renowned master carpenter of the Kaga clan, and started in 1645.
