Igarashi Atsuyoshi built the irrigation canal in Osawano-cho. This canal brought water from the bowels of the mountains, running from the upstream area of the Jintsu River down to Sasatsu Bridge. Even today, it supplies water for some 300 hectares of farmland. It is said that Atsuyoshi conducted his measurements using what is called the hat scale method when he built the canal.
