Mysteries of Takaoka Castle─Castle Architect Takayama Ukon

Takaoka Castle was designed by Takayama Ukon, who was a military leader during the Age of Civil Wars (1467-1568). Ukon was baptized as a Christian at the age of 12, and is also known as a tea master. Familiar with Western technology, he manifested his talents also in the area of castle architecture.
