This is the gate of Otaya, built by Maeda Toshitsune, the third feudal lord of the Kaga clan, for his lodging and relaxation. It was used until the time of the fifth feudal lord, Maeda Tsunanori. Afterwards, however, the building and all the furnishings and fixtures were given to the Kawai family, who managed it. Today, only the gate remains, which has been moved and rebuilt at the Eianji Temple.
