The Site of "Nyoi no Watashi," Fushiki

The ferryman suspected that he was the hangan (the popular name of Yoshitsune). Benkei, one of his followers, hit him with a fan, and they could get through the crisis thanks to Benkei's wits. This episode was adapted into the Noh song "Ataka" and a scene of the Kabuki play "Kanjincho." There are statues of Yoshitsune and Benkei.
