The Site of "Nyoi no Watashi," Fushiki

"Nyoi no Watashi" was the ferryboat crossing the Oyabe River, linking the cities of Takaoka and Shinminato. The name "Nyoi no Watashi" is quite old; it appears in Gikeiki, a war chronicle of the Medieval Period. According to the chronicle, Minamoto no Yoshitsune and his followers escaping to Oshu (now Tohoku region) tried to get on the boat at Nyoi no Watashi.
