The Tanada family ran a shipping agency, which prospered from the early Meiji period to the early Showa period. The estate consists of the main residence, three storehouses and a tea-ceremony pavilion. The house is built in the sukiya (tea ceremony house) style of the Meiji period. The house is well maintained, and the ceiling beams in the anteroom next to the entrance hall are quite impressive.
