Hokyointo, Ishitsutsumi

There are many historical ruins in the Yamakawa district. Hokyointo was found in a public cemetery in Yamakawa. It is considered to be related with the mound in which text of sutra was buried that was found in the mountain behind the Hakusansha Shrine. This type of stone tower is called Hokyointo because the Hokyoin Daranikyo sutra was stored in it.
