The Legend of Ryubai, Kuniyoshi

Legend has it that in old days, a female dragon dwelt in the Oyabe River, and a male dragon in Hakusan Pond. One day, the male dragon, which had turned itself into a huge serpent, was killed by the lord of Akamaru Castle. The female dragon grieved, and cursed the lord to death. Later, the female dragon took the form of a woman to visit the priest of Shinkoji Temple every day.
