Saikoji Temple has a unique crest of three straw bags stacked up. It represents, according to tradition, the three straw bags of treasure (rice, millet and soybeans) the Emperor gave to Fujiwara Hidesato (alias Tawara Tota), an ancestor of the temple, in praise of his deed of subduing the giant centipede of Mt. Mikami in Shiga Prefecture.
