An area of some 40 hectares within the city of Takaoka is devoted to the cultivation of tulips. This makes Takaoka No. 3 in the prefecture. A stretch of the prefectural highway approximately 2 kilometers long and extending from the Aburaya intersection to Ichihime Shrine has been dubbed Takaoka Tulip Boulevard. It is a lovely place to take a stroll.
