Takaoka Festivals, Takaoka Manyo Festival, Takaoka Area

This festival is held in October every year. In Takaoka Kojo Park, the main venue, people recite all the 4,516 poems of the 20 volumes of Manyoshu in relays in three days and three nights. Various other events also take place at the Manyo Historical Museum and Otomo Shrine.
