The oldest temple bell still extant that is the work of a caster from a Takaoka metalwork shop is to be found at Myokokuji Temple, which is located on Mt. Hinataii and affiliated with the Nichiren sect. Engraved on the bell are the date Enkyo 4 (A.D. 1747) and the names of the casters, Kita Manuemon and Magobei.
