This festival is held on June 19 and 20 in the seven Kanaya neighborhoods where the metal casting trade flourished under the patronage of feudal lord Maeda Toshinaga. The ""yagaefu"" song performed at the festival is a Takaoka folk song traditionally sung by metal casters when treading on the huge foot bellows, tatara, used to stoke the furnace for melting metal.
