Tengusama (long-nosed goblins), it is said, would gather at Hakusan Shrine once a year. They would hold a banquet, clap their hands to fife-and-drum music, and dance around. But they would never allow a human being to get near or to sneak a peek at their party. If they found a person breaking this rule, a giant would appear out of nowhere, and pick up and throw that person far into the distance.
