The Shogawa River gets wider between Ota Bridge and Ogami Bridge. It is widest in Futatsukamae. The river narrows again near Ogami Bridge, so the water level rises. In 1896, the embankment collapsed after a long rain and the area suffered a great disaster. It was only reconstructed after 13 years of unspeakable hardships.
