The Chigo (or child in festive procession) Dance of the autumn festival of Kamo Shrine, one of the two major annual festivals of Shimo-mura, is commonly called "Kattondo". The dance is dedicated to the shrine in gratitude for harvests. Its origin is said to be from the Kamomioya (Shimogamo) Shrine in Kyoto. The dance was designated as an intangible cultural asset by Toyama Prefecture in 1965.
