The autumn festival of Ebie Kamo Shrine, called Ebie Hikiyama Festival, takes place on September 23 every year. It is quite dazzling to see the three creaking floats making a stately progress to the graceful music of hikiyama hayashi. No-one knows when the festival began, but records show that the float of Nishi-machi, the first one in Ebie, was built in 1841, so the floats date back about 150 years.
