Because of this, the pottery became known as Ohi pottery. Since the government had banned the use of the blacks and reds found in Raku-style pottery, Chozaemon developed an original glaze known as "ame-yu glaze" that features a rich caramel color with a depth and elegance of hues that draws the viewer into a serene world.
