"Takaoka Festivals, Takaoka Mikurumayama Festival"

This noted Takaoka festival is held annually on May 1. Maeda Toshiie received the imperial carriage dating from the time Toyotomi Hideyoshi welcomed the emperor. The second feudal lord Maeda Toshinaga gave it to 10 towns that had been newly formed. The carriage was reportedly rebuilt as a wheeled float like those used in the Gion festival, and was first used in the procession of the spring festival of Sekino Shrine.
