"Wooden Molds for Temple Bell Dragon’s Heads, Kitahannya"

Japanese temple bells have a dragon shaped mounting on the top called a ryuzu, or dragon's head, that is used to hang them up. These wooden molds, which have been passed down from generation to generation within the Hayashi family, are precious artifacts that testify to the metal casting industry that once thrived in the Nishibu Kanaya district.
