This school was founded in 1894 as Japan's first school dedicated to the industrial arts; it also was originally Toyama Prefecture's second middle school. The school's achievements have not been limited to the nurturing of artisans and laborers; industrial-educational partnerships have also produced results in the areas of technical research on engraving and casting and the development of new products.
