"Tsukiyama Ceremony, Futagami"

This annual spring ceremony is held on April 23. The divinity is welcomed on a temporary altar in the shape of a mound called a tsukiyama set up below three Japanese cedars on the shrine grounds. During the evening of the 22, the divinity is welcomed and guided into a gohei (a Shinto instrument resembling a rod with colored paper attached) on the summit of Mt. Futagami.
