What are said to be the remains of the Etchu local government office during the Nara era are located on the grounds of the Shokoji Temple in the Fushiki district of Takaoka. When Otomo no Yakamochi was appointed the executive officer, he invited local officials to the government offices for a New Year's celebration. There are three stone monuments engraved with the tanka he composed on those occasions.
