This January event is dedicated to the flavors of winter. The cooks use a massive pot more than two meters in diameter. Festival-goers can taste in ample amounts the freshest of catches taken from the Japan Sea in this season in such hotpot dishes as "gottsuo-nabe," crab hotpot, and "tairyo-nabe." The festival has been held in the central districts since 2002.
