Many Gokayama folk melodies and dances are performed, including "mugiya-bushi," "kokiriko-bushi," and "toichinsa." The Johana Mugiya Festivalis one of the biggest festivals in Toyama Prefecture. A special stage is erected at Zentokuji Temple for the dancing that spills out through the town and lasts into the night.
