Takaoka Star Festival
Takaoka Star Festival
A special feature of the summer season with roots in history and tradition, this festival is the largest of its type on the Sea of Japan side of the country. The town is decorated with slips of colored paper attached to branches of bamboo, large and small, there are parades through the streets, a Tanabata Kawanagashi Festival is held, and there are folk dances and other events.
