This festival has a 390-year history and is held to show gratitude to the feudal
lord Maeda Toshinaga, whose patronage of metal casting artisans
allowed their industry to flourish. The "yagaefu," the song long ago adopted by the Takaoka metal casting artisans, is sung this
day at the festival.
