Aosuji Ageha, Green-banded swallowtail, Graphium sarpedon nipponum (Papilionidae)
The adult can be seen around urban areas, and emerges 3-4 times in a year. It siphons the nectar out of flowers such as Cayratia japonica (bushkiller), and takes flight quickly. The caterpillar feeds on Lauraceae such as the Camphor tree, Cinnamomum japonicum and Machilus thunbergii. Overwinters as a pupa.
