After Takaoka Castle was built, Tateno became an inn district. There was a storehouse here that served as a granary where the clan stored its levy rice. It is said that the main hall at the Unshoji temple was built from what remained of the Tateno storehouse. The rice would be loaded on a boat plying the Naka River; the boat would then come down river by way of Kimachi as far as Fushiki and Yoshihisa.
