Animals of Nakada, Hannyano: Fish, Takaoka Area

Tomiyo, Amur stickleback, Pungitius sinensis (Gasterosteidae)This fish has seven to ten serrated spines along its back and a line of 30-36 scales on its body extending back from the pectoral area to the caudal peduncle. It lives along the Japan Sea in spring water from Fukui prefecture and northward.
