"Seen in large numbers on mountain ridges, and in wooded or grassy areas with a mix of vines, pampas grass, goldenrod, and bamboo grass. Hibernates in egg form through the winter and hatches in the spring. All mantis without exception are carnivorous, and always catch their prey with their grasping forelegs.
